VICTORIA STREET

Before Carbon Saver were involved in this project , with Lonie Lozano Architects, it had struggled to gain planning permission.  Carbon Saver produced an Energy & Sustainability Assessment Report to help to achieve compliance with both Building Regulations and Planning conditions. A fabric first passive design approach to the building was proposed, with improved U values in order to minimise energy demand for heating, lighting and cooling , reducing the demand for energy and the carbon emissions prior to the application of any renewable technologies. The Carbon Saver design proposed included for photovoltaic (PV) panels on the flat roof, to reduce carbon emissions and provide a renewable energy contribution and a community energy source  Following these scheme revisions Planning permission was achieved for the project , with accommodation increasing from 154 to 204 apartments plus 610 square meters of commercial space at ground floor level.
